Melissa starting singing in Grade 4 when she was finally able to convince her church choir director to let her join the senior choir. She started taking lessons at 13 and studied seriously for 14 years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Degree specializing in voice and choral conducting in 2008 from The Kings University College. She then went on to pursue her Bachelor of Elementary Education Degree, graduating May 2010. While attending university she worked with adults with disabilities.
Melissa was asked to create a program for adults with developmental and physical disabilities in 2007. This was how Choral Morphosis began. In 2009, after 2 years of hard work, she was awarded the Mayors Award for Outstanding community service to the City of Edmonton.
Melissa is the director of both Choral Morphosis programs as well as the summer camp. She is also a substitute teacher with Elk Island Catholic School board and the choir and handbell director at Edmonton Moravian Church.
Pamela Graham has been involved in music all her life. She was privileged to grow up in a musical household. As a child, she took piano lessons, played in a youth band and sang in church choirs. She continued her studies at university in Regina, Saskatoon and with the Toronto Conservatory. After being a musician in the military and teaching high school band in Bonnyville, Pamela decided to "retire" to Edmonton. She has, however, kept busy doing the things she loves most……singing, playing her horn and teaching. Pamela also enjoys "living in 1885" at Fort Edmonton Park during the summer.
Kim was one of the first accompanists Choral Morphosis ever had. She worked wit Choral Morphosis for two and a half years. She attaned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Degree with a focus in piano performance in 2007 and has been working with people with disabilities since 2000
Kim is currently in Vancouver working to become a Certified Music Therapist. She is missed greatly by all Choral Morphosis members!
